Antique Peters & Reed Moss Aztec Art Pottery Vase Pansy Nasturtium Antique Peters & Reed Moss Aztec art pottery vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Pansy or Nasturtium vase has a nice crisp mold and great color, and measures approximately 5“ tall x 4“ wide. There may be a fleck on one side, see detailed photo for details. One of the nicest pieces of Moss Aztec I owned, and one of the last two pieces of my collection. I have a large jardiniere listed as well. Frank Ferrell, a prolific pottery designer from the Arts & Crafts era, proposed a new Pinecone line to Weller in 1905, but his idea was rejected. He joined Peters and Reed, in Zanesville, Ohio in 1906, became president, and turned the company into a success. He adapted utilitarian flower pots into art pottery, creating the Moss Aztec line, a red clay pottery with green tints that had a rustic feel.
